Perspective Drawing by T3 series
'student centered instruction, teacher centered value'
What is the T3 series Perspective Design?
Over 200 minutes of student centered instruction for grades 8-12 delivered via CD-ROM media allowing each student to control playback and work at their own pace. Students learn to use the Microsoft Paint program as a design tool to create various perspective designs in 1,2, and 3 point perspective.
Design Solutions computer based units of instruction provide teachers and students with the tools they need for successful student learning and achievement. With the 21st century emphasis on educational technology, these units provide much needed support for teachers and students. This particular unit will provide the computer aided tutorials students will need to successfully complete three perspective design types, namely, one point, two point, and three point perspective. No added software is necessary. Students simply use the existing programs on their Windows based computer. (Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7)
This is the third release in the Design Solutions Teachers Teaching Technology Series. This Teacher version includes 3 parts: First, a suggested curriculum that is aligned with national educational standards for mathematics, visual arts, and computer technology. These standards form the basis for suggested understandings and essential questions. Second, the instructional portion provides over 200 minutes of direct instruction formatted to be played on any computer using Windows Media Player ™, allowing students to proceed through each tutorial at their own pace. This provides a unique way to address differentiated instruction and multiple intelligences. Third, included is a performance based assessment rubric. Teachers and students may use the provided rubric for formative peer assessments, for summative self assessment, and for teacher final assessment. Five criteria are referenced including: canvas setup and file saving, computer applications, perspective design framework, use of color, and creative embellishment. This series is recommended for the teacher who wants a simple way to integrate technology with standards based instruction into their existing program but may not know how. (Recommended for Grades 8-12)

Curriculum
This compact disc contains a suggested curriculum framework (UbD format) based upon multiple curriculum content standards. The standards used are national standards for Mathematics, Visual Arts, and Computer Technology. The curriculum framework document provides recommended standards linked to suggested overarching understandings and essential questions to help foster inquiry and student achievement. These are then followed by suggested knowledge and skills.
Instruction (see TOC above)
At the heart of this unit is the audio-visual instructional tutorial. These instructional video tutorials are formatted for playback on your computer using Windows Media Player ™ allowing students to control playback and work through the direct instruction at their own pace. The student uses the Windows Paint™ program included on the computer to successfully complete one or more Perspective design types. (Operating System Windows XP™ Vista™ or Windows 7™)
Assessment
Prior to beginning work students should know what is expected of them and how they are being assessed. Therefore we have included a printable performance assessment rubric. Upon completion, students may be assessed according to the five categories supplied in the enclosed rubric; canvas setup and file saving, computer applications, perspective design framework, use of color, and creative embellishment. Students may use the rubric for self-assessment and the teacher may use the same rubric for a final assessment.
